Old Argonner Kaserne, Hanau

The Old Argonner Kaserne in Hanau, Wolfgang is a former US Army base.

After the last American Army personnel left the city in 2008, the facilities were left alone and nature took over.

In August there was a day where they opened the gates to let people in and I went there to take some more photos for my series Goodnight America.

It doesn't take long and the whole area changes dramatically. Investors are already starting to make money by turning the former apartment buildings into luxurious condos and selling them to people who can afford to live in.

Here are some impressions.

Lol quitte a few of these were already abandoned before we left. Mostly the buildings on the back side of old Argonner.

yup lived there too before my teenaged years, most of these pictures seem to be of the outskirts. I think there was 1 or two run down buildings within the residential area, one considered to be haunted (burned down or something) I remember that distinctly, I dream of this place sometimes, sand parks and all. but there's no pictures of those areas presented here. The school, basketball courts, gazebo areas, the bridge that leads to new Argonner - used to skateboard up and down that bridge. It'd be cool to see photos of those old areas too...
