I am very happy and excited that Two Way Lens goes on with another outstanding photographer.

Chip Simone is an Atlanta based photographer. He worked in this field for more than 40 years. His work has been exhibited internationally and is included in many private and public collections such as 

The Museum of Modern Art, The High Museum of Art, The Houston Museum of Fine Art, The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, and the Sir Elton John Photography Collection.

He was educated in the history and traditions of creative photography at the Rhode Island School of Design (1964-67) where he studied with renowned photographer Harry Callahan.

James Friedman - Self-Portraits

Self -Portraits from Oblivion is a new series by photographer James Friedman. When I saw this body of work the first time, I was captivated and looked at it again and again. The photographs had such a strong visual impact on me that I can't get them out of my mind.

Photography Auction for fire victims of La Gomera, Spain

La Gomera based photographer Oliver Weber needs your help to raise money for the victims of the recent forest fires on the island of La Gomera.

The recent devastating forest fires on the island of La Gomera (next to Tenerife, Spain) caused the inhabitants to lose everything- a home to live, animals, fields, The situation is serious.
For the benefits of the inhabitants Oliver Weber (MD and photographer) and his wife Alexandra MD) , which are living and practising in a GP office in Valle Gran Ray/La Gomera , offer 2 pictures series of the mystical nature photography series "The Magical Forest" by Oliver Weber on the PHOTOKINA 2012 and on Ebay for an auction. These picture series were taken in the February 2012 and show the "Garajonay"- a national park of the UNESCO of the canary islands. This forest , which belongs to the inheritance of the nature of the world, lost hundreds of hectare through the fires.

This auction is designed to raise money for the residents of this area, to help them recover from this tragedy, and to try recover the Garajonay National Park which has also been impacted by this tragedy.
All the money raised will go for this cause.

Two Way Lens and Karen Halverson

Two Way Lens proudly presents Karen Halverson.

I am very happy and excited that I could add another great interview with an outstanding photographer to my Two Way Lens project.

Hudson River Valley, NY based photographer Karen Halverson started photographing in the streets of New York with a Nikon F and a 35mm lens. This was the beginning of a new identity for her and a passion for photography she has never lost. 

A long car trip she had taken as a child through the American West established a strong connection to the West she's felt ever since. 

Since then, she has been exploring various aspects of the cultural and natural landscape of the West.

Karen Halverson's work has been collected and exhibited by many prominent museums including  the J. Paul Getty Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art, The Santa Barbara Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and many more.

The Lake, Unplugged

The Lake, Unplugged is my newest body of work.

Located near the magical castle Neuschwanstein is the fifth largest lake in Bavaria with a surface area of 15.2 sq. km. (9.45 sq miles)

Forggensee is known primarily as a tourist destination for aquatic sports and recreation. The lake provides ideal conditions for surfing, sailing, fishing, and boating. it is stocked with pike, trout, and eel. Two ships navigate the lake on two different routes.

But there is something very unique about this lake.

Two Way Lens proudly presents David Husom.

I am very happy and excited that my interview project Two Way Lens goes in another round with legendary photographer David Husom.

David Husom is a fine-art documentary photographer based in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He has a BFA in Photography and Film from the University of Minnesota where he studied with photographer Jerome Libeling and an MFA in Photography and Film from the University of Minnesota where he studied with filmmaker Allen Downs and art historian and artist Sidney Simon.

His photographs are in numerous collections including the J. Paul Getty Museum, George Eastman House, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and many more.

I am captivated by David's work the first time I saw it in the book to the exhibition "Where we live - Photographs of America, from the Berman Collection" at The J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles.

Two Way Lens proudly presents Frank Yamrus

I am very happy that Two Way Lens continues with another great photographer. 

New York based artist Frank Yamrus' most recent body of work, I Feel Lucky, is a very personal series of self-portraits. 

He created this project between his 47th and 53rd birthdays. Initially titled Less Than or Equal to 50, this series began with a looming deadline of his 50th birthday, as if on this milestone his midlife crisis would magically resolve itself. At the time, typical midlife crisis issues — relationships, faith, career, health and mortality — were producing classic midlife crisis symptoms — moodiness, exhaustion, the desire to make change and some deafening private politics of self-identity. With his camera, his constant companion during this time, he contemplated a lifetime of choices and created present-day images to evaluate his past with the hope of glimpsing his future. 

Franks work has been exhibited internationally and is included in many private and public collections.

Natalie Krick

Natalie Krick is a photographer based in Chicago, IL. She earned her MFA in photography from Columbia College in Chicago and holds a BFA in photography from the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY.

The artist's mother is the subject of her most recent series Natural Deceptions. Natalie photographs her mother in different situations and settings and explores clichés used to visualize female beauty, gender and sexuality.

The portraits show so much intimacy, vulnerability, emotion and beauty. You just can't take your eyes off these memorable photographs. They stick in your mind and you have to think about what is behind the situation the subject is in.
